Hephzibah, GA Nicholas “Nick” Goodwin, age 15, of Hephzibah, GA., passed away Sunday evening from injuries sustained from a dirt bike accident. Nick was a sophomore at Hephzibah High School where he played soccer. He excelled in his academics.He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish.Nick was very active in his youth group at Pine Hill Baptist Church.He loved spending time with his brothers and his cousins.Nick was full of life.He was very outgoing and would do anything for anyone. He is survived by his parents, Vince and Cindy (Hall) Goodwin of Hephzibah, GA; 2 brothers, Danny (Rachel) Goodwin of Augusta, GA., and Joey Goodwin of Hephzibah, GA.;His paternal grandmother,Frances Goodwin of Hephzibah, GA., several aunts and uncles, Rev. Paul (Rita) Hall of Delaware, Chris (Colleen) Hall of Augusta, GA., Gerald (Brenda) Goodwin of Augusta, GA., Richard Goodwin of Hephzibah, GA., Karen (Mike) Perry of Hephzibah, GA., and Charles (Rise’) Goodwin of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Howard Goodwin, Jr., his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Judy Hall and one uncle, Hank Goodwin. Family will receive friends Wednesday (TONIGHT) from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., Highway 25, Augusta, GA., 30906, 706.798.8886. Services will be Thursday 10 am at Pine Hill Baptist Church, 4233 Old Waynesboro Rd., Hephzibah, with Dr. Robert Driggers, Dr. Dwayne Carter and Rev. Charles Pennington, officiating.Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Hephzibah High School Soccer Team, the Pine Hill Baptist Church Youth Group and 4 cousins, Christopher Hall, Carson Hall, Ryan Wilby and Mack McBride.Pallbearers will be John Mack, Shane Arnett, Wesley Hibbitts, Tommy Kilpatrick, Soccer Coach Marcos Martinez and Soccer Coach Jonathan Martindale. Memorials may be made in Nick’s honor to the Pine Hill Baptist Church Youth Group.
