Mr. Addison Simpson Loflin, 90 entered into rest on Tuesday October, 24, 2017. He was married to the late Edna Garrard Loflin. A native of Washington, Georgia, he lived in Augusta since his early years. He was the son of the late James Thomas Loflin and Alma Burdette Loflin. Mr. Loflin was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He also worked for Savannah River site and Plant Vogtle. Mr. Loflin was the owner and operator of auto parts businesses in Thomson and Augusta. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Richmond Lodge 112. He served as Past Patron of Eastern Star and was a Shriner, a member of Knights of Templar and the American Legion Post 150. Mr. Loflin was active in those organizations for over 60 years and served in numerous leadership positions. He continued contributing to the Shriners Hospital for Children until his death. Mr. Loflin was a member of First Southern Methodist Church in Augusta and served in leadership role there. Survivors include his brothers George Wesley Loflin of Augusta and James P. Loflin of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers William R. Loflin, James T. Loflin; sisters Jane L. Watkins, Helen L. Simmons and Jannette Loflin. A graveside funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday October 28, 2017 at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry O’Neal officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM on Friday evening at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.
