Yvonne Thomas Coleman, 87, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Josie Lee and Lucile Thomas, brother, J. L. Thomas, and husband, James Eugene Coleman. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Saldivar (Eloy) of Evans, GA, Gail Saldivar (Sam) of Melbourne, FL, and Michelle Hazuda Rutherford (Steve) of Evans, GA, grandchildren Cole Saldivar (Susan) of North Augusta, SC, Melody Saldivar of Evans, GA, Samantha Bowman (Daniel) of Delray Beach, FL, Sabrina Saldivar of Satellite Beach, FL, Annaleigh Witt (Ryan) of Fort Riley, KS, and Carter and William Hazuda, Madison and Mason Rutherford of Evans, GA, great-grandchildren, Graham and Lily Saldivar, Archer Bowman, and Eri Witt.Yvonne was born in Springfield, GA on February 1, 1937. She married her husband, Eugene, on June 11,1954. She moved to Augusta with her husband and daughters in 1965 and has lived in the area ever since. She was a devoted homemaker for most of her adult life until she entered the work force at age 55. She retired from Surrey Center Pharmacy Post Office Sub Station in 2014. Thereafter she volunteered in the Food Pantry at ChristWay Christian Church, where she has been a member for the last 25 years.Yvonne was a Godly woman who devoted her life to her family that adored her and was loved by those who knew her. She was best known for her infectious smile and laughter, earning her the affectionate nickname “Grammy Giggles” by her grandchildren. She was a tough lady who was a fighter to the very end, and she will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at ChristWay Christian Church.
