Woodrow S. Newman, Jr

Mr. Woodrow S. Newman, Jr Martinez, Ga. entered into rest Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Woodrow S. Newman, Jr., 72, husband of the late Mrs. Mickey Newman. Graveside service officiated by Mr. Logan Huff will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 am at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown. Family processional leaving from McNeill Funeral Home to begin at 10:15 am. After, family and friends welcome to join for memorial service and luncheon at American Legion Post 192. Honorary pall-bearers represented by American Legion. Mr. Newman, native of Augusta, was a retired insurance sales manager with United Insurance Company of America, member of Pineview Baptist Church, and member of the American Legion Post 192. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Woodrow will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was always there no matter what and was a loving father and grandfather. He was known as "Mr. Fix-It" for the past nine years since he retired and was very active at American Legion Post 192. Survivors include three daughters, Sherie Dozier (Craig), Martinez, Ga. , Lorie Patrick (Michael) Appling, Ga., Angie Gunn, Thomson, Ga. Two sisters, Elizabeth Connor, Elsie Brewton, Martinez, Ga., and one brother, Ozzie Newman, Evans, Ga. Five grandchildren, Lauren Huff, Craig Dozier, Jr., Nicholas Dozier, Kelbie Gunn, and Kylie Wade. He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow & Lillian E. Newman.
