Winifred Roy Bullock

Winifred Roy Bullock age 65 was born in New York to Dorothy Bullock Burke (Lester) and Elijah Dawes (Juanita). He departed this life, peacefully, in his home in Augusta, Georgia on Tuesday 14 July 2020, with wife Sonya Simmons-Bullock by his side. Winifred was preceded in death by both parents Elijah Dawes (survived by Juanita Georgetown SC) and Dorothy Bullock Burke. He leaves with fond memories of happy moments his children Winifred Roy Bullock Jr (Ethel Jenkins-Jones) (DC), Willie Trotty, his grandsons; Jaylan Nicholas Bullock and Raheem Trotty and grand- daughter Danniha Trotty. These are Winifred’s beloved sisters and brothers: Carmelita Burke (NY), Decato Burke (Lorraine) Florida, Tyrone Pryor, Dorothy Hamilton (Richmond VA). Winifred graduated from Swift Creek High School, Whitakers, NC. He later completed the study in Heating and Air Conditioning at Lincoln Tech in Landover Md, becoming certified in that field he worked as a Heating and air specialist at University of the District of Columbia in Washington DC. He served in the US Army. Winifred basked in the love of large extensive families of both parent’s sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews among whom he never stopped reaching out to, connecting to, engaging with and embracing. His family grew when he married Sonya. Winifred endeavored to be helpful and nurturing to the many people he came to know in his neighborhood and they came to see him as surrogate family including many young people who saw him as a “parent”. Winifred was a happy person who loved working. He retired from Concrete Cement 6A Union New York City. He loved fishing and playing music on the bass guitar. As per his request, Winifred was cremated in Augusta Georgia on 16 July 2020. Final resting place for his ashes, as per his request is to occur on 26 July 2020 under his “fathers oak tree” on the farm in Georgetown, SC.
