Augusta, Ga. – Mrs. Williria B. Holt passed away at the Medical College of Georgia. The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the funeral service.Committal services, at a later date, will follow at Mount Moriah Church in Pulaski, Tennessee. Mrs. Holt is survived by her sons, Robert A. Holt of Jackson, Tennessee, Mitchell Holt and wife Lillie Holt of Augusta, Georgia.Her grandchildren include Greg Holt and wife Gwen Holt (Appling, Ga.), Steve Holt (Greenville, SC), Chris Holt and wife Gina Holt (Albany, Ga.); her great grandchildren include Kelcee Holt, Jordie Holt and Gabrial Holt (Appling, Ga.).She is also survived by her sister, May Locke (Pulaski, TN); nieces, Linda Locke (Nashville, TN) and Nancy Radek (Antioch, TN) and nephew Bill Locke (Huntsville, AL). Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John M. Holt. Mrs. Holt was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 18, 1921.She attended East High School in Nashville, Tennessee and Middle Tennessee Teachers College in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.She was a gifted musician and school teacher who took an active role in a broad range of school system activities while teaching and raising her two sons.She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
