William E. Rogers

Retired Chief Petty Officer, US Navy William E. Rogers, Jr., of Augusta, GA., passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at the age of 83.He retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer having served in World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam.He also retired from Georgia Power Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Luvenia Hilton Rogers, Sr. He is survived by his children; Linda Marie Rogers Gay of Lewisburg, TN., Dale Marie Hochevar of Milwaukee, WI., Billy Rogers of Augusta, GA. and Pam Snider of Martinez, GA.;grandchildren; Chris Peters, Clint Rogers, Wayne Rogers, Crystal Rogers, Johnny Hochevar, the late DJ Shelby, Dina Ford and Lisa Snider;10 great grandchildren;1 sister, Dot Rogers of Augusta, GA.And a very special number one friend, Mario Newman. Family will receive friends Thursday, 6 pm to 7 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA., 30906, 706.798.8886.A Memorial Service will follow at the funeral home with full military honors being performed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
