William Gordon Dinkins

Hephzibah, GA. William Gordon Dinkins, age 83, of Hephzibah, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015, at his residence with his loving family surrounding him. He was born December 4, 1931 to the late John D. and Alma Crawford Dinkins.He served his country in the U.S. Army and owned and operated a floor covering business for many years.He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Dinkins and 4 brothers, Vernon, Kenny, Ralph and Gary Dinkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Martha (Butler) Dinkins; children, Evelyn (Barry) Wolford, Debbie (Johnny) Hobbs, Butch Dinkins, Edward (Terrie) Dinkins, Chris (Andrea) Dinkins and Dale (Alison) Dinkins;16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren;1 brother, Carlton (Phoebe) Dinkins. Family will receive friends Monday 3 pm to 4 pm at THE POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30907 with a Memorial Service to follow at 4 pm with Pastor Jason Davis, officiating.Military honors will be rendered. The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for all the care and support that they received during their difficult time.
