William Howard Bland

William Howard Bland Augusta- Mr. William Howard Bland 81, entered into rest on Tuesday October 25, 2015 at Augusta University Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be held 2PM Saturday October 29, 2016 in the chapel of Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta with The Rev. George Muir officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Columbarium at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Bland was a graduate of the University of Florida and a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a former engineer with Pratt and Whitney. A funeral and cemetery pre-planning consultant for 26 years, with many of those years locally with Hillcrest Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife Diane W. Bland; son and daughter-in-law Bradley William(Janine) Bland of Matawan NJ; daughter and son-in-law Grace (Willie)Helms; sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Dr. James) Bell, Des Moines, IA; uncle and aunt Joseph and Margaret Marte of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren Cora Elizabeth Lollar, Jack Bradley Bland, Julianna Marie Bland, David Hudson Lollar IV and Henry Joseph Bland; also surviving are numerous cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Friday evening at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta.
