William (Bill) David Postell

December 21, 1925 — November 5, 2021

On Friday, November 5, 2021 William (Bill) David Postell, “Uncle Bull”, 95, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his residence. He was beloved husband for 27 years of the late June Robertson Postell. Bill was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 21, 1925 to the late James Melvin, Sr. and Irene Pope Postell. He was a veteran of the US Army and served as Sergeant in WW II. He retired from Georgia Iron Works (GIW) after 39 years where he was Welding Shop Supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and bird hunter. He was a member of Georgia Iron Works Retirees, a member of Hephzibah Hen Pecked Club, the American Legion Post 205, VFW #649, Voiture 40 & 8, a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and the Sr. Men’s Sunday School Class. Survivors include his step-son, Thomas L. Barrett; his brother, J.M. (Buster) Postell, Jr., one niece and six nephews, his dear friends Doug and Brenda Wasden and Lelia Speering. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, and his brother, Alvin E. Postell. A special thankyou to Tonya Dent (Jones), James Jones, Shasta Johnson and Willie Bell Felix for the precious compassion and devotion shown to Bill when caring for him. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Hephzibah Baptist Church with Reverends Michael Wren & John Beck officiating. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Hephzibah Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm until time of service. Interment will follow at Hephzibah Vance Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Hephzibah Baptist Church.
