William K. Alumbaugh

Grovetown, Georgia Mr. William K. Alumbaugh Sr., of Grovetown died at his residence on Wednesday, January 7, 2009.He was 83 years old. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Mr. Alumbaugh is survived by his wife, Phyllis Gilbert Alumbaugh of Grovetown, Georgia; his children, William K. Alumbaugh Jr., of Augusta, Georgia, Sondra K. Alumbaugh of Brazil, Indiana, Debra K. Seward of Terre Haute, Indiana, Tammy K. Sexton of Terre Haute; his special nephew, Gary Lee Harden and his wife, Carol, of Juniper, Florida; his step-children, Angela K. Nichols of Bakersfield, California, and Robert L. Flood of Terre Haute; his fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Marilyn Joan Eastwood of Dennison, Texas.He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony Basil Alumbaugh and Fannie McDonald Alumbaugh; his sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Clifton Harden. Mr. Alumbaugh was a decorated veteran of WWII.He served as a B-17 Gunner in the Army Air Corp. and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
