Biography Dr. Wayne G. Warner Augusta, GA - Entered into rest Tuesday, March 19, 2013.Dr. Warner was born in Duquesne, PA but had lived in the Augusta area for many years.He was the son of the late William E and Verna G. Warner.He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Moyar of Valparaiso, IN and eleven nieces and nephews.He retired from the Columbia County Board of Education after many years.A world traveler, he visited a great many countries and typically took multiple trips each year.He was also a lifelong student and held degrees from a variety of schools in a variety of disciplines.He attended and or earned degrees from the following schools, Chicago University, Harvard University, Duke University, Peabody University, Columbia University, Erskine Theological Seminary and Augusta State University just to name a few.He was an associate member of Trinity On the Hill United Methodist Church and attended St. Mark United Methodist Church.A memorial service will be held Thursday April 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark United Methodist Church, with Rev. Charles E. Broome and Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund of St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2367 Washington R.
