Walter Lum, 86, entered into rest November 19, 2017 at the VA Medical Center Augusta, Ga., husband of Micha Pyon Lum. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Mosaic UMC at 3:00 pm with Reverend Carolyn Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00pm. Walter, a native of Augusta, graduated from Richmond Academy Class of 1949, and was a Corporal in the US Army where he served during the Korean War. Mr. Lum was owner and operator of Delta Manor Grocery and later Lum’s Moon Gate Restaurant. He attended First Baptist Church as a child and was a member of the American Legion, The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association and Old Town Neighborhood Association. Walt was an avid bowler and enjoyed softball but was especially talented and enthusiastic as a Ballroom Dancer. Additional survivors include a son, Michael Lum, daughter, Andrea Lum Freeman, brothers, Frank Lum, Arthur Lum, sisters, Mabel Ng, Pearl Lee, Mildred Loo and Lorraine O’Quinn, three grandchildren, Mia, Maggie and Gabe, two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Penelope. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Mosaic UMC Harvest Fund, The Children’s Hospital Fund and the CSRA Human Society or a charity of your choice.
