Vivian L. Broome

Vivian Lee Kitchens Broome, age 77, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, at her residence with her family surrounding her. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, niece and friend.She was a member of the Piney Grove Senior Citizens and H2U.She loved to play bingo and cards with all her friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin E. and Marie Purvis Kitchens; her husband, James W. Broome, Sr.; her daughter, Jacqueline Marie Broome; great granddaughter, Jaylee Broome and one sister, June Ray. She is survived by 2 sons, James W. (Robyn) Broome, Jr. and Jeff L. (Lynne) Broome; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Sara) Broome, Jonathan J. Broome, Jennifer (Daniel) Reese and Abbi Broome;3 great grandchildren, Leayla Broome, Liana Broome and Kimber Reese; one aunt, Elsie Black. Family will receive friends Monday 7 pm to 9 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, GA., 30906. Funeral Services will be Tuesday 2 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Joyner and Rev. Marion Jay officiating.Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Broome, Jonathan Broome, Daniel Reese, Thomas Howard, Josh McGuire and Joe Prichard. Memorials to Piney Grove Baptist Church of the American Cancer Society.
