Mr. Vernon Lee Harris Sr. Mr. Vernon Lee Harris Sr., of Augusta, died on Friday, July 29, 2011.He was 81 years old. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The graveside service will be conducted on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park.The family and friends will meet at the gravesite on Monday. Mr. Harris is survived by his grandson, Jason (Michelle) Harris; his two great grandchildren, Rock and Nicole Harris; his sisters, Annie Ruth and Pauline.He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret M. Harris, and by his son, Vernon Lee Harris Jr. The family affectionately called him “Pops”.Mr. Harris was a Godly man.He enjoyed reading; for more than 43 years, he was a machinist.
