Tommy Twitty

Mr. Tommy J. Twitty, 68, of Augusta, GA passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at University Hospital. Born in Kennett, MO, he was the son of the late Barney and Geneva Nall Twitty. Tommy retired from the Army to Augusta in 1988. While in the Army he served in the Vietnam War and with NATO. Tommy was a member of the VFW Post #649. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step daughter, Jessica Murphy, two brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his cherished wife, Lynn Twitty. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 2-3pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 3pm in the Chapel of The Poteet Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the CSRA Humane Society, 425 Wood St, Augusta, GA, 30904.
