Mr. Mixon is survived by his wife, Teresa Lawson Mixon; his sons, Duane Mixon of Augusta, Dave “Buster” Mixon and his wife, Virgie, of Augusta; his daughters, Judy E. Mixon and her husband, G.L., of Wake Forrest, North Carolina; and Terri Mixon Wright and her husband, Ronnie, of Augusta; his fourteen grandchildren, Tina Widgeon McIntyre, Sean Cowan, Amy Kennedy, Mark Long, April Stokes, Darrell Mixon, Brook “Sissy” Mixon, Keith Krooss, Tim Krooss, Josh Mixon, Angel Pinson, Stormi Mixon, and Blazzee Mixon; his brothers and sisters, Leo Mixon Malone of Durham, North Carolina; Roberta Mixon Urbanski of Savannah;R.C. Mixon of Durham, Evelyn Mixon Bryant of Southaven, Mississppi; Jack Edward Mixon and his wife, Bernice, of Atlanta, and Hazel Mixon Exley and her husband, Charles, of Pooler, Georgia. Mr. Mixon was a native of Toombs County.He graduated from G.A.B. Business College with abusiness degree.He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.Mr. Mixon was active with the Junior Achievement Community Services and a member of the board of directors of Triple C Credit Union.He served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII in Guam, Marianas Islands.He received a good conduct medal and an Honorable Service Ribbon.Mr. Mixon, who was wounded, received his honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal Rifleman.He was retired from Continental Can Company after 22 years of service and for over 40 years was self-employed with Mixon Printing Company.He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.Mr. Mixon was a mentor to many people.
