Thomas "Tommy" Edward Joiner

Thomas “Tommy” Edward Joiner entered into rest on April 6, 2023. Tommy was surrounded by his loving family and in the arms of his beloved wife as he went home to be with his lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Tommy, a native of Thomaston, Georgia was born on May 14, 1939. Tommy served his country in the National Guard. He retired from PQ Corporation and served in law enforcement for a period of time as well. Tommy wed the love of his life, Patricia, in 1970 when they began their beautiful love story of 53 years in Augusta, Georgia. He was a devoted member of Martinez Baptist Church. Tommy was a loving husband, father, papa to his grands and great grands, brother and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and playing the guitar. Tommy and Patricia enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains and being outdoors. Tommy was a god-fearing man who enjoyed reading the bible. He was a die-hard fan of the Atlanta Braves and a man of many jokes. All that knew him, knew his jokes. Even in his final hours, he joked (in his best Porky Pig voice) “That’s all Folks” as he knew he was signing off from his earthly existence and onto his eternity. Making people laugh gave him great joy. To know Tommy was to love him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Marie Joiner; his father, William Thomas Joiner; three brothers, Eugene Joiner, Ronald Joiner and Wallace Joiner (Eloise Joiner); and his stepson, Lewis “Pete” Johnson. Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Joiner; his daughters, Karen Joiner Morgan and Kim Joiner Brown; his stepdaughter, Deborah Boyd (Gary Newton); his stepson, David Johnson; his grands, Richard Boyd (Tonya Boyd), Travis Boyd, Mollie Boyd (Blake Williamson), Steven Johnson (Sonya Johnson), Kristin Hollingshed (David Hollingshed), Courtney Brown, Amber Goodwin and Lauren Morgan; his great grands, Kailey, Jake, Nicholas, Aiden, Mayson, Makenna, Brayden, Grayson, Christopher and Gunner. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away. Family will receive friends Monday 12 noon , April 10th @ Bellevue Memorial Gardens chapel , with a service following @1pm , interment @ graveside immediately after the service .
