Thomas Sylvester Griffin was born on August 17th, 1951 in Lebanon, Missouri. Tom was a track, football, and basketball star in high school, receiving many regional and state awards while working full time at night to support himself. He also received numerous division one college scholarship offers yet was unable to attend due to having to work full time. He then served in the army during the Vietnam war as a Neuropsychiatric Specialist. When his time was fulfilled, Tom and his future bride, Beverly Chall, who he randomly met at a prayer meeting, became great friends. They married on October 20, 1973, 51 years ago in St. Louis, Missouri. Tom leaves behind his faithful and loving wife, Beverly, his four children: Pamela (Steve) Brooks, Diane (Donny) McCall, Steve (Natalie) Griffin, Paula (Kevin) Duncan; grandchildren Ryley, Conner, and Cody Brooks, Lauren Lundy, Griffin and Morgan McCall, Leigha Riley, Lindsey and Levi Griffin, Addison and Brenner Ham, Leandro Duncan and Jake Jankowski. Tom loved cooking, especially chili and spaghetti. He loved fast cars, especially the Dodge Challenger, watching wrestling, NCAA basketball, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Tom loved his family and will be missed by so many who love him. A memorial service will be held Sunday October 20, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Ministries 4594 Columbia Rd. Martinez, GA 30907 @ 2pm ,with a visitation prior to the service at 1:30 .
