Mr. Theron Levi (Tim) Garvin, 95, entered into rest on Friday, August 30, 2019. Mr. Garvin was born and raised in Wagener, SC. He was born in 1924 to the late Brantley and Nora (Rish) Garvin of Wagener, SC. He married Margaret (Thompson) of Port Arthur Texas in 1971. He began his life’s journey in the US Navy as a Pharmacist’s Mate Third Class in Texas from 1945-1946. Then, he served as a Steward for Eastern Airlines in Texas. With his love of traveling, he started his own business in Beaumont, Texas “Tim Garvin Travel Agency” also known as “Tim Garvin Tours.” After selling his business, he decided to move back to Aiken, SC to retire. He then joined the Clemson Extension “Master Gardeners.” He also assisted the community through Aiken’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for over 25 years. Mr. Garvin enjoyed helping others, attending to his flowers, joking, laughing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken where he was active in various activities for many years. Mr. Garvin is survived by his wife Margaret, son Brant Garvin, daughter-in-law Kristy Gunter Garvin, grandchildren Maegan and Levi Garvin, loving nieces and nephews, and his dog, Bubba. Preceding Mr. Garvin in death were his parents and sisters: Lucille Adkinson, Naomi Johns, and Margie Eubanks. Services will be private.
