Tanner Logan Haywood,19, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on Monday, December 7, 2020, with his family & Addie by his side after a long & courageous battle with Ewing Sarcoma.Tanner was born in Augusta, GA on March 19, 2001, to Tripp & Leslie Haywood and lived all of his life in Appling, GA. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Deborah Lee Hendrix & his lifelong fur buddy, Ben "Diesel" Haywood. Tanner was a 2019 Greenbrier High School graduate. After high school, Tanner moved to Statesboro, GA to attend Ogeechee Technical College where he earned a certificate in welding. He moved back to Appling & worked for Guillbeau Iron in Harlem, GA. He was a member of Kiokee Baptist Church. Tan was the Man, also affectionately known as TanMan, Leroy, Tan, Broski, Tanboy, Cutie, & Kemosabe. If you knew him you loved him. His soul was old, kind & gentle. His smile was big & beautiful. His ears were even bigger & so very soft & cuddly. Tanner never met a stranger. There was something about him that made everyone who met him feel special like they had known him forever. He loved the Lord & trusted Him no matter what. He loved to share how God was using his battle with Ewing sarcoma to grow the Kingdom. Tanner loved Addison Grace Cooper & he had every intention of marrying her, moving her to a farm & having four children. He loved his big sister Taylor, their special handshake, their brother/sister swear ritual & all of their many adventures. He loved to fix things & he was very good at it, especially mechanical things with his Dad. He loved being outdoors with his buddies, hunting & fishing. Tanner loved music but he was particularly fond of classic country, southern rock & 80's hair bands, thanks to his Dad. He loved to sing & dance like his Mom & was very entertaining when he did. Tanner loved sports, especially football & the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved to talk. A LOT. Tanner simply loved life & everything it had to offer. We just know he is loving heaven & being with Jesus. Tanner will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Tanners courageous battle with Ewing sarcoma began in 2015 when he was just 14 years old. It was a hard & long battle but he was a warrior that fought until the very end. We are forever thankful to all of his Augusta University/CHOG medical team but especially to his oncologist, Dr. Colleen McDonough, his clinic nurses, Ms. Pam, Ms. Kate, & Ms. Rebecca; his surgeons, Dr. Cearley, Dr. Pipkin, & Dr. Hatley & all of the wonderful staff on 5C. All of these people loved Tanner & treated him like he was their own child. We will forever thank God for all of them. Tanner is survived by his parents, Tripp & Leslie Haywood, his sister Taylor (Jay) Mapp, & the love of his life, Addison Grace Cooper; his paternal grandparents, Catherine 'Ann' Haywood & Danny Haywood Sr.; maternal grandfather, Freddie Palmer (Lavon), several cousins, aunts, uncles, & many, many friends he loved dearly.
