Sherry Lynette Davis Person

Sherry Lynette Davis Person, age 63, passed away surrounded by family at Augusta University Hospital on July 18, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1960 to MSG Thomas Davis and his lovely wife Shelba in Paris, France. Growing up in a military family meant living in many locations, but she eventually settled down in the Augusta, GA area, making that her home. Sherry was quite the foodie and enjoyed finding and trying new recipes to share with friends and family. She had a knack for interior design and was passionate about making her home beautiful. If she knew you were coming there would always be fresh coffee or other beverages ready to serve, as she loved doting on visitors. Sherry suffered with chronic health conditions for many years, doing the best she could to live a happy life in spite of her challenges. In recent years she enjoyed taking mini-vacations to stay at her best friend Merilyn’s place in Cleveland, GA where she found some needed peace and respite from her day to day life at home. There is some comfort in knowing that she is now forever free of all pain and suffering and resting in eternal peace. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Shelba Davis and is survived by her two loving children, daughter Shanon Person, and son Joshua Person; beloved granddaughter Madison Person ; brother David Davis, nephew Thomas Davis, and niece Victoria Davis. A memorial service in her honor will be held on August 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church Of Augusta at 629 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
