Sherry Lynne Cook died on October 8th 2021 at Select Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia of damage to her lungs caused by a 3-month struggle with the COVID-19 virus. Sherry was born in Marietta, Georgia in 1962 and moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1987. Sherry graduated from Berkmar High School in 1980 and received her nail technician license in 1985. Mrs. Cook’s professional life was as vibrant and varied as she was. She worked as a manicurist, as a cake decorator, and even had her own custom decorated cookie business, later she worked as a county clerk with both Richmond and Columbia County. Sherry was known for her ability to light up a room with a smile as soon as she entered. She found her calling in bringing joy to the children of the CSRA as Missus Claus, going as far as christening her truck as her magic sleigh. In all of her endeavors, Sherry put her family first and gave everything of herself so that her children and grandchildren could succeed. Sherry was predeceased by her mother Norma Wire Williams. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey, her three children Taryn Butcher (Eric), Casey Donald (Amanda), and Wesley Taylor, by her father Larry Williams (Wanda), her 3 siblings Donna Myers, David Williams (Dana) and Melissa Wagaman (Ken), and her 101-year-old grandmother Ovalyn Williams, and her 4 grandchildren Kyra, Miley, Brayden, and Aria. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday November 20, 2021 at the Hardin Auditorium ,7022 Evans Town Center Blvd, Evans, Ga with visitation following the service.
