Sharon Henderson Bellamy

Sharon Henderson Bellamy was born in Augusta, GA on June 13th, 1959. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Wayne Henderson and survived by her mother Ann Wise Henderson. After an extended illness, Sharon passed away peacefully Sunday January 26th, 2025, with her loving husband Ed by her side. Recently retired, Sharon worked many years as a nursing educator for Virginia College and Helms College. With a double master’s degree in nursing, as a devoted instructor she encouraged her students and expected excellence from them. Sharon loved her family and friends dearly and she gave her all to those she touched. She is survived by her husband Edward Lee Bellamy and two stepsons, Edward Bellamy Jr. and Christopher Bellamy . Her sister Claudia Sharp (Joe), brothers Michael Henderson (Lynda) and Tom Henderson (Deb) also grieve her passing. Sharon was a generous and loving “Aunt Shay-Shay “as she was known by her nieces Jana Covington (Jake), Katie Hamilton, Casey Wood (Christopher), Christie Moody (Ryan) and her nephews Aaron Henderson, Joshua Henderson and Daniel Henderson. She loved doting on her great nieces Grace Moody and Eliza Wood and her great nephews Jensen Moody and Elliott Wood. She leaves behind multiple other family members who will forever miss her presence Sharon loved music especially country artists like John Denver, Elvis Presley, and Ronnie McDowell. From Pigeon Forge to Las Vegas or Yellowstone traveling was one of Sharon’s passions and she spoke often of returning to Hawaii where she and Ed had spent their honeymoon. Sharon was a free spirit with a heart as big as the moon. She had a wickedly funny sense of humor with a biting wit and sharp tongue. She was loved by so many and will be sorely missed. The family is comforted knowing she joins her beloved grandmother Evelyn Wise and uncle Sam Wise and Stepson Sean Bellamy in heaven. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home on Friday February 7th, 2025, at 3:00 PM with Reverend Jerry Wilson officiating..
