Roy C. Kay

Mr. Roy C. Kay, 89, of Hephzibah, GA, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at The GA War Veterans Nursing Home. Born in Garfield, GA, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Almedia Strickland Kay. He was a lifelong resident of the Augusta area. He retired from Gracewood State School and Hospital from the maintenance department and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. Roy was a loving, caring, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Eubanks Kay, son in law, Tommie Townsend, three brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Kay, Hephzibah, GA, Dianne Townsend, Louisville, GA, Jeannie (Andy) Chavous, Aiken, SC, grandchildren, Drew (Tammy) Chavous,Todd Chavous, SC, Lorrie (Gus) Tolias, all of Aiken, SC, Jeffrey (Robin) Williams, Hephzibah, GA, Susan (Bill) Godowns, Louisville, GA, Chris (Dee) Townsend, Martinez, GA, fourteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta. Graveside Services will be at 2:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. J. D. Turner officiating.
