Mrs. Rosemary Smith Parks, of Hephzibah, died on Monday, August 30, 2010.She was 62 years old. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Parks is survived by her husband of 38 years, Larry D. Parks; her son, Kevin D. Parks and his wife Tina S. Parks, of Savannah, Georgia; two grandchildren, Preston Chase Parks, of Savannah, Georgia and BailieCorynn Parks, of Augusta; her brothers, Harold “Sonny” Smith and his wife Freda, of Hephzibah, George C. Smith, of Appling, Georgia; her niece, Cindy Smith O’Neal, of Tampa, Florida; her nephew, Mike Smith, of Hephzibah; her close family friends, Ken and Victoria Bowman, of Hephzibah.Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie C. Smith and Sylvia D. Smith, and her brother, Donald R. “Bobby” Smith. Mrs. Parks was a Christian who had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, and attended Lakeview Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by World Color Inc.She loved Facebook and Farmville where she devoted hours of her time, giving gifts, and helping others.She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, fishing with her grandson, Preston and baking blueberry muffins with Bailie.
