Ronald Rex Fearneyhough (May 25, 1941-September 12, 2021) Entered into rest Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Augusta University Hospital.Ronald Rex Fearneyhough, husband of Judith E. Fearneyhough.Ron and Judith were married for 62 years.Preceding in death were Ron’s parents, Rex and Mildred Fearneyhough and a sister Cheryl.Ron was a native of Jacksonville, IL.Ron managed Woolworth and Woolco Department Stores throughout Illinois and Ohio before moving to Martinez, GA to manage the Sam Solomon Catalog Showroom – under his management the store became the training store for management development and receiving departments.In 1984, Ron’s life did a U-turn and he was “called” to pastor a congregation at Blythe United Methodist – serving Blythe (June 1984-1990); Independence & Rock UMC (January 1990-June 1993) in Tignall & Rayle, GA.Through Ron’s encouragement, a new fellowship hall was built at Rock Church and Rock UMC was awarded the Small Church of the Year award for the North Georgia Conference.In June 1993-June 2010 – Ron pastored Gracewood UMC in Augusta GA.While “pastoring” in the UMC Ron Graduated Augusta College and received Masters of Divinity from Emory University Candler School of Theology (M.Div.) Cum Laude – 1987-1990 and also took an extended Clinical Pastoral Education course.Ron served as Chaplain to St. John’s Towers for many years, retiring in 2014.Ron retired from pastoring in the UMC and along with his wife Judith, started Much More Ministries where monthly regional Glory Gatherings were planned and held with international revivalists that God raised up “for such a time as this” – MMM has an outreach to the ladies Prisons, the Homeless in the CSRA area and plan spiritual Conferences.Ron was instrumental in planning trips to Promise Keepers, Toronto for the Toronto Blessing and to Florida to the Brownsville Revival.Along with 3 other men, Ron founded a branch of “Walk to Emmaus” (Georgia-Lina Walk to Emmaus) in the CSRA area. Survivors include:Judith, his wife, a son R. Lance and wife Lisa Leopard Fearneyhough; a son David L. and wife Robin E. Mays Fearneyhough.7 Grandchildren, Aaron (Jessica), Matthew, Justin, Ryan, Rachel St. John (Barry), Courtney Bodie (Taylor), Jeremy (Kala) There are 10 great-grand children who Ron absolutely adored!A sister, Renee’ LeDuc (Roger), 3 Nephews, 2 Nieces, 7 great-nieces and 3 great nephews.Also, Ron is survived by an adopted son and his family, David & Latece Laws, their 4 children (David, Tangela, DJ and Tia) and 3 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contribution can be made to “Tunnel to Towers” Foundation; 2361 Hylan Blvd; Staten Island NY 10306; Blythe United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund and/or Much More Ministries, 123 Springlakes Drive, Martinez, GA 30907. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at River of Life Church, 1411 Columbia Highway North, Aiken, SC starting at 1:00pm. A “Time of Reflection” (Burial) will be at Blythe UMC Cemetery, Blythe, GA on Sunday October 17!(For family members)!
