Rodney Dale Terry

April 10, 1958 — November 13, 2013

Mr. Rodney (Rod) D. Terry Evans, Ga. Left us for his final journey at age 55 on November 13, 2013. He was born and raised in theAugusta area, graduating Evans High School class of 1976 with honors. He attended Clemson University. In his youth he was a member of cub scouts, as well as boy scouts, achieving the badge of Eagle Scout at an early age. His love of nature and bond with Native American culture followed him throughout his life resulting in travels from the deserts, to the mountains, as well as the pyramids of Mexico. Through his travels he developed close relationship with many Native American Chiefs and tribal elders. Through his journeys he learned many skillsincluding pottery making. His strong desire for knowledge led him to be both a student as well as a teacher to many. He attended classes and workshops, as well as volunteered at Tom Brown Jr’s Tracker School. He was also involved in Vision Quest and The Earth Heart Institute of Vision and Healing. In 2002 he received his Doctorate of Divinity certificate from Universal Life Church. His viewpoint on life was centered on freedom, freedom for himself, freedom for others, and freedom for our world. He leaves to cherish his memory, (the light of his life) his nephew, Jackson A. Terry, Mom, Helen L. Terry, brother, Brent A. Terry, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many close and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his Dad, Jack C. Terry. A memorial service will beconducted Sunday December 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel 4501 Wrightsboro Rd. Grovetown, Ga. 30813. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the GRU Children’s Hospital of Augusta, Ga.
