Mr. Robert Allen McDonald Sr. Loving husband of Amy Johnikin McDonald Mr. Robert Allen McDonald Sr., of Augusta, died at his residence on Saturday, October 8, 2011.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the family plot at West View Cemetery.Rev. Marion Jay and Rev. John Kilpatrick will officiate.Pallbearers are Robert and Mark McDonald, Jimmy Beatty, Tommy Stringfield, Gary Reynolds, and Terry Johnikin. Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Amy Johnikin McDonald; his sons, Robert Allen McDonald Jr. and Mark Anthony McDonald; by “my special heart”; by his daughter, Lorraine McMillan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Deborah Darwin;his step-father, Harry Foss; his sisters-in-law, Minnie Grooms and Shirley (Gary) Reynolds; his brothers-in-law, John (Charlotte) Johnikin, Jimmy Johnikin, and Tommy (Jeanette) Johnikin.He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Foss. Mr. McDonald was a member of Silvercrest Baptist Church.He retired, after more than 28 years, from Borden Dairy, and then retired from A&A Vending.Mr. McDonald served in the United States Air Force.
