Robert (Bob) G. Freville, born June 1942, in Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully at home on December 14, 2022. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Mary Catherine Donoghue Freville, brothers: Bill Freville, Jim Freville, Jack Freville, Edward Hansen and his first wife Evelyn Freville. Bob is survived by his wife Elaine Freville, his sisters: Sandi Hansen and Yvonne Newman, brother- in-law Ron Newman, sister-in-law Bonnie Freville, children and stepchildren: Cathy Bertzfield, Tommy Bertzfield, Robert P. Freville, Lynn Freville, Jay Freville, Amanda Freville, Paula Skedsvold, Linda Szymanski, Kevin Skedsvold, Teri Stucki, Daniel Skedsvold, Bronwyn Haney-Skedsvold, Sandra Scott, and Wesley Scott, grandchildren: Summer, John and Jenna Bertzfield, Regan Freville, Caralynn Freville, Aydin Hazlett, Ian Stockum, Jasmine Skedsvold, Miles Skedsvold, Sarah Hutcheson, Seth Hutcheson, Collin Skedsvold and Parker Skedsvold; and great grandchildren: Autumn Hall and Calvin Hutcheson. Bob was Sergeant First Class US Army Retired after 20 years of service. He served in Airborne and later as an Airborne packer. Bob spent 18 months hospitalized from a vehicle accident and was no longer able to jump. Having befriended many doctors while hospitalized, he changed MOS to Orthopedics and served at Camp Zama, Japan and a tour in Korea, and retired as NCOIC of Orthopedics at Fort Gordon Ga. in 1977. He again retired after 33 years working in Orthopedics at Doctors Hospital. Bob was special to all who knew him. He had the God given talent of never meeting a stranger. He always left a clerk or employee with a smile and was known for giving you the raw truth but making you happy about it. Bob attended The Assembly at Augusta and Wrens Church of God. A memorial service will be held December 23 at 11am at The Assembly at Augusta Church on Wheeler Road. Family visitation will be 10am at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Baxter Stanley and Pastor Jason Burton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a church or charity of your choosing.
