Robert M. Dixon

Augusta, GA. Robert M. Dixon, age 71, of Augusta, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015, at GRU Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1944, to the late Thomas and Ida Barnes Dixon.He retired from the U.S. Army with over 24 years of faithful service.After he retired from the military, he began a part time job delivering luggage from the local airport and it grew into his own business a short time later.His son, Brian, worked with his father at M. & M. Delivery and now continues to run the business. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Monika Messmer Dixon; children, Brian Dixon and Donne Gene Dixon; 1 grandchild, Jeandra Raymond; 4 brothers, Tommy Dixon, Paul Dixon, Richard Dixon and Stephen Dixon. Memorial Services will be Friday, 3 pm at the POTEET FUNERAL HOME, 3465 Peach Orchard Rd., HWY 25, Augusta, 30906.Full Military Honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service.
