Mr. Robert “Bob” Baurle Mr. Robert “Bob” Baurle, of Augusta, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Charlie Norwood VA Hospital.He was 86 years old. Bob is survived by his children, Bobby Baurle, and his wife, Terry, of Boston, Massachusetts, Nancy Lovett, and her husband, Eddie, of Clarks Hill, and Elizabeth “Snookie” Baurle, of Augusta; his grandchildren, Carey Ann, Brett, Travis, Brandy, Adam, and Deanna; his great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kolbie, Logan, Asa, Ana, Jake, Brett, Ryan, Arron, and Gabe; other friends and relatives.He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, in 2006; his son, BB, in 1979; his sister, Frances Kendrick, in 2010. Bob was born in Augusta; he was the son of the late Joseph and Evelyn Smith Baurle.He served in The United States Navy during WWII.For more than 65 years, he was a member of the IBEW Local No. 1579.He operated the Lock and Dam Bait and Tackle Shop for over 53 years.The South Boat Ramp at the Lock and Dam was named in his honor many years ago. This ramp was recently rededicated to him.Bob was appointed to the Richmond County Port Authority Committee.He was a member of the South Augusta Exchange Club and the Henpeckers Club.Fishing was his life.When he wasn’t fishing, you could find him cooking breakfast for his many friends. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Hambrick Jr., Ulmer Bridges, Steve Hair, Dennis Burch, and two Richmond County Deputies who were like sons to him, Bill Wright and Benjamin Gavin.
