Richard Meigs

Richard Earl Meigs, 59, entered to rest December 12,2020 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia after a brief illness, not COVID related. Richard was born on May 10, 1961 in Okinawa, Japan to the late Lewis Elliott and Martha Elizabeth Rose Meigs. As a child his family lived in many areas around the world while his father served in the US Army and later settling in North Augusta, South Carolina. He graduated from North Augusta High School in 1979 and later went to Aiken Technical college receiving an Associate Degree in Accounting. He is preceded in death by his belove wife Peggy Jean Fordham Rynearson Meigs, and a Special Nephew Lewis Causey Meigs. He is survived by step daughters, Cheryl Renee Rynearson and Christy Rynearson Canady. Step-Grandchildren, Chrystal Reign Rynearson, Riley Duane Canady, and Zoey Bree Canadyall of Lakeland, Florida. His brothers and sister, Bruce (Becky) Meigs of Graniteville, SC, Colonel (Ret) Steve (Maggie) Meigs, San Antonia, Tx, Brenda (Max) Mealing, Trenton, SC and Mike (Teresa) Meigs, North Augusta, SC . Nephews and Nieces, Bruce A Meigs Jr, Graniteville, SC, Kimmey Meigs Battles, Atlanta, Amanda Meigs, San Antonia, Tx, John Mealing, Kings Mountain, NC, Bryan Mealing, Trenton SC, Matt Mealing and Daryl Strickland of North Augusta, SC and several great nephews and nieces and cousins. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
