Richard Brooks Johnson, 76, entered into rest June 1, 2018 at his residence, husband of Mary Darlene Johnson of 56 years. Richard a native of Midland, MI, has lived in the Augusta area for the past 33 years. He was an Instrumentation Engineer for SRS. In addition to many years of service as a deacon and active member of Philadelphia Church of God, Richard had a passion for life and learning new things. He had a love of camping, was atinkerer and inventor and he made his own wooden flutes that he taught himself to play. He painted and wrote poetry as well as children’s stories. He started out many years ago making humble dandelion wine and eventually graduated to his own homemade whiskey. These are only a few of his many interests, hobbies and loves. Richard touched the lives of many people and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Gerald Johnson and Vivian Elizabeth Johnson and hisson Richard Thomas Johnson.Survivors include his daughters, Annette Heath (Roy), Teri White (Grady), Heather Fickling (Lee); brothers, Greg, Eddie Joe, Tom and Doug Johnson; sisters, Patti Gail Ecker and Pam Novak, 10 grand children, 12 great-grandchildrenand a host of other family members.
