Mr. Richard S. Dunaway US Army Retired Mr. Richard S. Dunaway, of Augusta, died on Monday, March 14, 2011.He was 75 years old. The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta.The funeral service will be conducted tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.Chaplain Ken Gross will officiate. Mr. Dunaway is survived by his children, Rick Dunaway (Diane), of Aiken, Vicky Burton, of Hephzibah, Ronald Dunaway, of Augusta, Wanda Campbell (Neal), of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Robert Dunaway (Candace), of Augusta; his special friend, Frankie Ann Barker; three sisters; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Dorothy Dunaway; his son-in-law, Ken Burton; his brother. Mr. Dunaway was a veteran of the United States Army.He served during the Vietnam War and retired after twenty one years of service.He worked with Georgia State Wholesale Florist.Mr. Dunaway will be greatly missed by his family.He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
