It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul R. Gage on October 24, 2024, in Evans, Georgia. Paul was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His life was a testament to love, service, and dedication to family and community. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Paul was the cherished son of Paul and Elizabeth Gage. He grew up in Columbus, where he developed an early passion for learning, culminating in his graduation from South High School. Paul's academic pursuits took him to The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering, and later to UCLA, where he completed a Masters of Engineering. Paul's life was deeply intertwined with service, both in his professional career and personal life. He attended Ohio State on a full Navy ROTC scholarship and served his country with honor, leaving the Navy as a Lieutenant Junior Grade after three years of active duty. After his military service, Paul embarked on a distinguished career in the aerospace and defense industry, contributing his expertise to Ford Aeronutronics, Rockwell International, and ultimately retiring from Lockheed Martin in Orlando, Florida. In 1960, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Carol Miller, beginning a love story that spanned nearly 70 years and a marriage of 64 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and music. Carol, a talented pianist, choir director, and piano teacher, was supported by Paul in all her musical endeavors, as he attended countless piano recitals and choir performances. Paul was a devout Christian and an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Evans, Georgia. His faith guided him throughout his life, leading him to volunteer tirelessly in various capacities. He served as a treasurer for numerous organizations, founded a little league soccer organization in Pickerington, Ohio, and was a founding board member of the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. His volunteer efforts also extended to the Faith Care medical ministry at Wesley UMC. Family was the cornerstone of Paul's life. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, David Paul Gage. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol Miller Gage; his devoted sister, Sandra Friebis; and his cherished sister-in-law, Lynne Dunne and her husband William. Paul is survived by his daughters, Karin Calloway (T. Bond) and Leslie Marcus (J. Cory), and daughter-in-law Jeannine Loiacono Gage. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Tripp Calloway (Rachel Byrd), Gage Marcus, Graham Marcus, CC Calloway, and Ivey Gage Garfield (Thomas), as well as his great-grandchildren, Emma Adele Calloway and Thomas Bond Calloway IV.
