Patty Charlene Cooper
(August 16, 1959 - December 18, 2022)
After an extended illness, Patty Charlene Cooper, 63, of North Augusta, S.C., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
She was born in Augusta, Ga., on August 16, 1959, to the late Marcus Cooper, her father, and Mrs. Dorothy Lucky Cooper, her mother.
She graduated from Hephzibah High School, Class of 1977, and later earned a certificate of cosmetology from Augusta Technical College. She was also a certified nursing assistant.
She was employed in various positions over the years and worked as a salesclerk at Three Sisters department store in Regency Mall. She also worked as an attendant at Gracewood State Hospital, serving disabled children. In addition, she was a waitress for many years at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Ryan’s Steakhouse, where she prided herself on never serving a cold dinner roll.
Patty was a talented artist who loved painting and drawing, crocheting, and spending time with her precious granddaughter and family. She had a great sense of humor and was known as a fun-loving prankster who enjoyed keeping her loved ones on their toes. She loved the children in her neighborhood and quickly earned a reputation for passing out candy to them from her front porch, but only if they could tell her the password: “Jesus Loves Me.”
A generous and good-hearted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, she did what she could with what she had. As a Christian, Patty would not want others to be sad for her, because she was confident in where she would spend eternity - in heaven with Jesus.
She leaves behind one son, Justin Marcus Graham, his wife, Brittany, and a granddaughter, Moriah. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Lucky Cooper, a sister, Debbie Cooper Faulk, her husband, Joe, a niece, Rebekah Faulk Lingenfelser, her husband, Kurt, a nephew, Joey, his wife, Sarah, and three great nieces, Lydia, Hannah, and Julia Hope, as well as many beloved cousins.
Her memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 2510 Richmond Hill Rd., on Friday, December 30 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
