Pamela Elizabeth "Pam" Ward

Augusta, GA – Pamela Elizabeth “Pam” Perry Ward passed away on March 21, 2022 in the comfort of her he, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 13, 1952, in Columbus, MS to Thomas H. and Patricia Winter Perry. She married Jimmy R. Ward in 1976 and he predeceased her in 2013. Pam is survived by her mother, Patricia Perry, of Columbus, MS, her daughters, Peri Elizabeth Ward Zamora (Nick), and Pamela Elaine Ward of Augusta, stepsons, Robin L. Ward (Darlene) of Oviedo, FL, Jeffrey Alan Ward (Mary Hales) of Webb, AL, and Johnny Ray Ward of Dothan, AL; grandchildren Thomas Cadle, Elizabeth Ward and Elias Zamora of Augusta, and her brother, Thomas H. Perry, Jr (Karen) of Slippery Rock, PA, nieces Kate Perry Acon (Zach) and Allison Perry Marburger (Teddy), and numerous other friends and family.



Pam graduated from Mississippi University for Women with her Bachelor’s degree, and then later received her Master’s and Specialists degrees from Augusta University. She worked for 35 years for Richmond County Board of Education, the last 17 years were spent as Principal at Glenn Hills Elementary and then Blythe Elementary where she retired in 2019. Her dedication and leadership has left a tremendous impact on thousands of students and educators throughout her career.



Pam grew up as a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Columbus Mississippi, then later transferred her membership to Liberty United Methodist Church in Hephzibah Georgia, where she was an active member in many church groups.



Pam was a breast cancer survivor and a warrior for finding a cure.



The family will hold a visitation at the Liberty from 10-11am on Saturday March 26, 2022 and then hold a memorial service at 11am officiated by Reverend Dave Bohling.



In lieu of Flowers the family requests to donations be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, First United Methodist church of Columbus, or a charity of your choice.
