Ms. Opal Ashe Davis Ms. Opal Ashe Davis of Augusta died on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.She was 98 years old. Friends may sign the register at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, on Friday (Today) from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm.The graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the family plot at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville, North Carolina. Ms. Davis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Troy Lester Davis and Vera Davis, of Axton, Virginia; her grandchildren, Dewey L. Davis and his wife June, of Warrenton, Virginia, Lucinda C. Showalter and her husband Michael, of Axton, Lisa M. Davis and her husband John Hozier, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Diane M. Hensarling of Dumsries, Virginia, Scott F. Davis and his wife Maureen, of Newport News, Virginia, and Sara Kallick and her husband Danny, of Burke, Virginia; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Lester Davis, and by her great-granddaughter. Mrs. Davis was a member of Keysville United Methodist Church.She was also a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution and the Daughters of The American Colonists.She was active in the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century.
