AUGUSTA, GA - Entered into rest at Wellstar/Augusta University Health on Sunday, January 26, 2025, Mrs. Olga M. Selman, age 86, born in Czechoslovakia, Europe, beloved wife of the late Edd Selman. Although born in Europe, she became an American citizen and lived & called Augusta, GA her home since 1962. Family members include daughters Gerda Selman Davis (Billy) of Augusta, GA and Angelika Selman Bondar (Douglas) of Martinez, Georgia, four grandchildren: Susanna Bondar, Alexander Bondar (Alina), Erika Bondar, and Creighton Davis; and two great-grandsons: Cameron Davis and Christian Davis. She was the only child of the late Rosalia Guertler. She is also the beloved mother by choice of Angelika Hunnycutt (James) and friend to many in the CSRA and residing all over the continental United States. She was an avid rescuer of pets and took in a multitude of homeless cats, dogs, pigs, etc., in her lifetime and provided a home for them. She was a hard worker all her life, being a homemaker, owning a dog grooming salon, and being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (she loved all of her family and friends). Olga was a life member of the VFW Post 649 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 178 Auxiliary. Special thanks are given for the spiritual encouragement of all of our family and friends (Angie Ethridge), who so faithfully helped and lifted us up in prayer during our difficult time. Funeral arrangements and interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Deans Bridge Road (by the fountain). Services will be conducted by Fairhaven Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Afterwards, the family will receive guests at 1:00 p.m. at 2 Boyz Pizza & Grill on Fury’s Ferry and Evans-toLock Roads (Walmart Shopping Center). This will be a remembrance & celebration of life for Olga. The family would enjoy hearing any memories and stories of Olga that anyone wishes to share. In lieu of flowers, donations in Olga's memory may be made to our local Humane Society or http://bostonterriertn.org/. Although she loved all dogs, Olga’s all time favorite was the Boston Terrier.
