Nellie Ruth Houghton

Nellie Ruth Ayers Houghton, 96, entered into rest Monday, January 3, 2022, wife of the late Roscoe Jackson “Corky” Houghton. She was born on May 21, 1925 in Cornelia, Georgia, she was a member of Martinez Baptist Church for over 60 years where she taught 3-year-old. Survivors include her son, Charles C. Houghton (Linda); daughters, Melody Quinn; Charlene Bagwell; Pauline H. Chambers; sister, Jo Myrtle Duncan; ten grandchildren and fifth teen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 am at Martinez Baptist Church with Reverend Phillip Winsett officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers pleas make memorial contributions to Martinez Baptist Church.
