Mikia Kinshasa Finley

December 30, 1975 — February 23, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Mikia Kinshasa Finley, who left us on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Born on December 30, 1975, to Pamela Finley Parks and Michael Finley, both of whom predeceased her. Mikia was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, whose loving spirit and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind her two adored fur-babies, Smokey and Skooter, who were her constant companions and brought her endless joy. Mikia leaves behind her two sisters, Kamya Smith (James) and Nashiba Boyd (Roland), who are devastated but will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her heart overflowed with love for all she knew, especially for her nieces, Destinee Roach and Ivy Boyd, and her nephew, Roland Boyd, III. Mikia’s love for her family was immeasurable, and she treasured the time spent with them. In addition to her immediate family, Mikia leaves behind a host of relatives, including aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly. She held a special place in her heart for them, as her affection for her entire family was beyond words. Mikia was also blessed to have many close friends who loved her deeply, including her best friend, Brittany Mcclendis, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Mikia graduated from Walden University with a master’s degree in counseling, pursuing her passion for helping others with unwavering dedication. She worked as a licensed therapist at Caterpillars Becoming Butterflies, LLC, where she loved her practice and her clients. She was guided by her faith in God, believing always that she was following His direction in her work, offering support, comfort and healing to those in need. Her work was her calling, and her impact will live on in the lives of those she helped. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mikia’s honor to the American Heart Association to support the research, education, and treatment of women’s heart related illnesses. Mikia’s light will forever shine through the love she shared, the work she did, and the memories she leaves behind. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit and love will remain forever in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held from 1-5 pm on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 3507 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta GA 30909. Friends and family are encouraged to wear purple, Mikia’s favorite color, in celebration of her spirit.
