Michael Wayne Anderson

Michael Wayne Anderson, 65, of Beech Island, SC, beloved husband of 30 years to Cynthia Anderson, lost his battle to cancer on Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Augusta, GA. Celebration of Life services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022, at The American Legion Post 178 located at 3219 Richmond Hill Road Augusta, GA 30906. Michael was born in Wilmar, Arkansas to Cecil and Helen Anderson on July 21, 1957. He went to school at Wilmar High graduating as Salutatorian. He married Cynthia Anderson on May 23, 1992, in Augusta, Ga. He worked as a Communications Engineer for 45 years. He was a veteran of Grenada and served in the United States Army for eight years. He was actively involved in the American Legion as 1st Jr. Vice Commander at Post 178 along with overseeing the kitchen, “Mike’s Galley”. He received many awards during his time at the American Legion, his most honorable being The Legionnaire of Year. His passions included spending time with his family, friends, and Brothers4Ever, being an active member of the NRA, and supporting his fellow Veterans and their families. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, brother and daughter. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Cynthia Anderson, his children Wayne Stewart (Heather), Aaron Anderson, and Austin Day, his sister, Carolyn Curry (Morris), his grandchildren, Natalie Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Mackenzie Stewart, Jacob McRae (Lillian), Gracelyn Stewart, and Kylah Anderson and mother-in-law Christa Allen.
