Mr. Mendel S. Hinson U.S. Army Ret. Augusta,GA. Mr. Mendel S. Hinson age 80, husband ofShirley Hinson went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Augusta,GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Acelebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel on Peach Orchard Rd. at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplin Steve Randahl conducting the service, Military Honors to follow. Mr. Hinson retired from the U.S. Army, during hismilitary career he was stationed in Vietnam, and Europe. He and Shirley were membersof the Church of the Atonement (Episcopal).Mendel loved hunting,fishing and boating, he will be missed by his family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Bernard Hinson and wife Vicki, Andrew Hinson and wife Wendi.Grandchildren, Joshua and wife Meredith,Victoria, David and wife Bronwyn Hinson, Laura and Joseph Wilson. Great- grandchildren, Judah, Landon and Jackson Hinson. Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Hinson.
