Melvin Ross Gilreath

Melvin Ross Gilreath, Born in Hartford, Illinois, February 29th, 1936 to Jesse and Eva Alma Myers Gilreath. Proceeded by siblings Curtis Eugene Gilreath, James Luther Gilreath, Jesse Jr. Gilreath. He graduated from Alton Woodriver High School and went on to serve in the United States Army until retirement in 1976. After retirement he went back to Augusta University. To continue his education obtaining a Bachelors of Business Administration only lacking a couple of credits from a master degree. From there he went to work at Morris Communications until he finally retired. He met Mary (Karhoff) Gilreath at Arlington, Virginia and married her in Camp Springs Maryland. They were married for 59 years. He was active in researching genealogy information on his ancestors. People often would call, write or email for information. Family members include his wife Mary Elizabeth (Karhoff) Gilreath, daughter Denise Ann Gilreath-Schultz (Bob), WI., son, Dennis Allen Gilreath (Marcellea), grandsons, Curtis Allen Gilreath (Kristen), Kenneth Ross Gilreath (Ashley), granddaughter, Melissa Kimberly Schultz, WI., great grandsons (love of his life) Logan Ross Gilreath and Laiden Scott Boatwright, sister, Marjorie Gilreath (Raymond ) Porter.
