Mrs. Melba Black Page Augusta, GA. Entered into rest April 13, 2016 after a short illness. Born in Augusta, December 6, 1946. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Page; parents, Clara Gay and Wyman “Bo” Black; and brothers Robert “Bubba” Black and Lindsay Black. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (John) McBurney; granddaughters, Maggie and Mollie; sister, Tonya Nettles; brothers, Jim (Beth) Black, Billy (Brenda) Black, and Willard (Debra) Black; and numerous nieces and nephews. Melba enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren and extended family, as well as going to Tybee Island and walking on the beach, reading, bowling, and taking cruises. She also loved her dog, Remy. Through the years, Melba worked as a stewardess, hairdresser, crime lab technician, and a CNA. The memorial service will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016, at First Assembly of God, 1613 Fenwick St., at 4 p.m., with Pastor Baxter Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
