Mrs. Maxine Parks Johnson, of Kingsport, Tennessee, formerly of North Augusta, South Carolina, passed into heaven on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Mrs. Johnson taught 4 year-old kindergarten at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church in Augusta for many years, and then worked to retirement at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 150 in Augusta, Georgia. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Sandra Parks Anderson, of Charleston, South Carolina, David Parks, of Wilmington, North Carolina, Mary Parks Smith, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and twostepdaughters, Harriett Johnson Bell, of Greenville, South Carolina and Evelyn Anne Johnson Neal, of Chapin, South Carolina; and multiple grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husbands, George H. Parks Jr. of Augusta and James E. Johnson of North Augusta, South Carolina. The family will honor her life with a graveside funeral service on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Westover Memorial Park.
