Mary Carolyn Roy, 77, of Grovetown, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on April 1st, 2023. She was a native of Augusta and a graduate of Richmond Academy. She had various careers over the years but retired from the job she loved the most, driving a school bus for special needs children. Her passion throughout her life was serving the Lord through her Apostolic Church by teaching Sunday School, mentoring young people, and loving others as the hands and feet of Jesus. She gave generously of her time and brought joy to all who knew her. She loved celebrations and parties. She loved celebrating people and the special moments in their lives. She taught her kids to serve the Lord by serving others using their gifts. As a loving, fun grandma, she showed her grandkids how to jump rope and roller skate like a child of the 50’s that she was. She walked with Jesus daily, prayed without ceasing, and testified of the miracles in her life to all she knew and met. She never lived one day, not even her last, without a praise on her lips for the one who saved her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Jack W. C. Roy Sr. who was forever her sweetheart. She will remain forever in the hearts of her children Rebekah (Thomas), Jack Jr. (Christine), and Ruth (Jeremy). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jessica (Jared), Cameron, Caterra Chloé, Owen, Kaitlyn, Carl, Gloriana, Lydia, Luke, and Jack. Her great-grandsons, Remington, Francis, and Ian will forever hear of her love and adoration for each of them. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Larry (Rosalyn). She is joyfully reunited with loved ones who have gone on before her, including her first grandson Dylan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5th at 10am at Bellevue Memorial Gardens- Chapel, 4501 Wrightsboro Road, Grovetown, Georgia. A Celebration of her Life will be at 11 AM followed by a Graveside Service with additional visitation to follow.Carolyn requested that any memorial donations be made to Promise Church designated for the Educational Center named in her honor.
