Mary Louise Phillips

Mary Louise (Hargett) Phillips, 80, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, surrounded by her devoted husband of 61 years Steve Phillips and her two daughters Sharon Beall and Amy Riley. Her death followed a glorious homecoming weekend during which all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled their home with love and laughter. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Vyron and Louise Hargett, and her brother Ray Hargett. She is survived by her sister Sara Hargett O’Neal and her husband Jim, sister-in-law Sandra Hargett, and brother-in-law Rod Phillips and his wife Dicki. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is also survived by her daughters Dr. Sharon Beall (Art Beall) and Amy Riley—and six grandchildren and their families: Capt. (Dr.) Caylin Riley, USAF (Ian Lange), and their children Carter and Gabby; Jessica Beall Davis (Andrew Davis) and their daughter Hannah; Katie Beall and her fiancée Evan Jones; Brendan Riley (Emily Riley) and their son Harrison; Emily Beall; and Carrie Riley and her fiancée Michael Nix, who will be married October 23. Mary was born in Chattanooga, TN, and lived and worked in metro Atlanta prior to retiring to Martinez, GA. Mary and her husband Steve are members of West Acres Baptist Church in Evans, GA. A celebration of her life will be held at West Acres Baptist Church in December.
