Mary Lou Davis, 78, of Augusta, GA was called home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Mary Lou retired from Kmart after many years. She enjoyed ministering to others by driving them to doctor’s appointments, bringing people to church on the bus and later in her car, and delivering them meals. She was a member of Southern Pines Baptist Church and enjoyed working in her retirement years in their Seedline Ministry where she helped assemble portions of Bibles to ship to missionaries in need. She had a kind and giving heart, enjoyed talking with others, and most importantly enjoyed spending time with her family. Marylou will be remembered as a caring and devoted friend, a giving person, and always ready to help someone out. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mary Lou was born on August 3, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Louis Paul Davis and Mae (Willen) Davis and her stepdad who she cherished the late Delbert Davis, Sr. Surviving are her siblings, Louis and Pat Davis, Augusta, GA, Roberta Davis, Branson West, MO, and Delbert and Judy Davis, Branson West, MO. Her nieces and nephews that she treated as her own children: Tommy Davis, Jr., Christine Davis, Daniel Davis, Edward Davis Jr., Jennifer Ellingsworth, April Miller, Tiffany Clegg, Joanna Wallis and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to her visitation which will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28 at Southern Pines Baptist Church in Evans, Georgia. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Delbert Davis and Pastor Michael Cope officiating. The burial is to immediately follow at the Belleview Memorial Gardens in Grovetown, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marylou’s name may be made to the Bible Ministry at Southern Pines Baptist Church, 4289 Southern Pines Drive, Evans, GA 30809.
